Was kostet die Einbürgerung? — Alle Kosten im Überblick

Die gesetzliche Behördengebühr beträgt 255 € pro Person. Hinzu kommen weitere Kosten für Dokumente, Übersetzungen und Zertifikate. Wir erklären was du insgesamt einplanen solltest.

Gesetzliche Gebühren

Festgelegt in §38 StAG: 255 € pro erwachsener Person, 51 € pro miteingebürgertem minderjährigem Kind ohne eigenes Einkommen. Diese Gebühren sind bundesweit einheitlich und nicht verhandelbar.

Weitere typische Kosten

Beglaubigte Übersetzungen: 50–150 € pro Dokument (ca. 3–8 Dokumente nötig = 150–1.200 €). Einbürgerungstest: 25 €. B1-Sprachzertifikat: 100–200 €. Apostille/Legalisation ausländischer Dokumente: 30–100 € je nach Land. Passfoto: 10–15 €.

Gesamtkosten realistisch

Für eine Person ohne aufwendige Dokumentenbeschaffung: ca. 500–800 €. Mit mehreren Übersetzungen und Zertifikaten: 800–1.500 €. Familie mit 2 Eltern + 2 Kindern: ca. 1.200–2.500 €. Civitas-Gebühr (optional): 149–699 € je nach Paket für die Antragsbegleitung — deutlich weniger als ein Anwalt (1.500–3.000 €).

Frequently asked questions

Kann man von der Gebühr befreit werden?

Eine vollständige Befreiung ist gesetzlich nicht vorgesehen. Bei nachgewiesener Mittellosigkeit (Bezug von Bürgergeld) kann die Gebühr allerdings auf 10–51 € reduziert werden — aber: Bürgergeld-Bezug ist selbst ein Hindernis für die Einbürgerung.

Sind die Kosten steuerlich absetzbar?

Nein — Einbürgerungskosten sind keine Werbungskosten oder Sonderausgaben.

Was kostet ein Einbürgerungsanwalt?
