Exporting your data

How to obtain a copy of your stored data.

You have the right to find out which data we process about you and to receive a copy of it. This article explains what this right is based on and how you request a copy of your data from civitas. The binding details are set out in our privacy policy.

Your right to a copy of your data

The GDPR gives you two relevant rights:

  • Access (Art. 15 GDPR): You can request confirmation of whether we process data about you, as well as receive a copy of that data.
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): Data that you have provided to us yourself, you can receive in a commonly used, machine-readable format.

On this basis, you can request a copy of the data we have stored about you.

How you request your data

You obtain a copy of your data on request via our data protection contact. To do so, send us a short message asking for access. You will find the relevant contact details in the privacy policy; our contact page also answers general questions.

So that we can match your request to the right person, please write to us from the email address linked to your account. We handle your request and get back to you within the statutory time limits.

Good to know: There is currently no automatic export button in your account. We provide your copy of the data on request via the data protection contact. If you would rather have your data deleted, see the article "Deleting your account and data".
