You decide how long your data stays with us. If you want to delete your account and the stored data, you can do so yourself at any time. This article explains how it works and what to keep in mind.
Deletion directly in your account
Deletion is a self-service option in your account settings — you do not need to write an email or wait for it to be processed. Here is how to proceed:
- Sign in to your account and open the Settings section.
- Select the option to delete your account there.
- As a safeguard, confirm the action by typing the word DELETE.
This confirmation ensures that deletion is not triggered by accident.
What gets deleted
By deleting, you exercise your right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR). Your account and the personal data associated with it are removed. Only information we are legally required to retain remains — for example, tax-relevant invoice data. Exactly which data this covers is set out in the privacy policy.
Please note: deletion cannot be undone. An application that has not yet been completed, along with the information stored for it, will be lost in the process.
Even without deletion: 90 days
You do not have to take action yourself to keep your data from being stored permanently. Regardless of any manual deletion, your data is automatically deleted 90 days after the delivery of your application. The self-service deletion is the way to go if you want to take this step earlier or actively.
