You have requested a sign-in link, but no email has arrived in your mailbox? This can almost always be sorted out quickly. Since signing in at civitas. runs via a link by email, access depends on that email reaching you. This checklist guides you step by step through the most common causes.
Checklist: step by step
1. Check the spam and junk folder
Automated sign-in emails end up in the spam, junk, or promotions folder more often than other messages. Look there first. If you find the email, move it to your inbox and mark the sender as trusted — this way future links arrive directly.
2. Used the correct email address?
The sign-in link goes exclusively to the address you entered. So check:
- Did you perhaps make a typo (transposed digits, a missing dot, the wrong ending)?
- Are you using exactly the address with which you created your account? No link is delivered to a different address.
3. Is the link still valid?
For security reasons, every sign-in link is valid for 24 hours. If you click on an older link, it no longer works. In that case, simply request a new one.
4. Request a new sign-in link
If no email can be found or the link has expired, go back to the sign-in, enter your email address again, and request a fresh link. After that, always use the most recently sent link — only the newest one is valid.
A small tip: after requesting one, wait a brief moment and refresh your mailbox. Sometimes delivery takes a few minutes.
If it still doesn't work
If no link arrives even after a fresh attempt, your email provider may be blocking the message or delivering it with a delay. Check whether your mailbox is full or whether filter rules are active. If that doesn't help, contact us via the contact page — mention the email address with which you wish to sign in, so that we can help you in a targeted way.
